Wow: pictures of Matt Frewer being transformed into Max Headroom. Although it's something I've wanted to see for a long time, seeing Frewer in the makeup, sitting in front of a blue screen...the magic is gone, a bit. But not so much that I still wouldn't pay top dollar for a DVD set of the Complete Max Headroom (bonus points if it includes the BBC material, the Coke ads, and the HBO show!) Apparently quantum cryptography has been hacked using a "quantum-mechanical wiretap", and the story about it has great sections like this: "To listen in, the team used a quantum-mechanical principle known as entanglement, which can link together two different traits of a particle. Using an optical setup, the team was able to entangle the transmitted photon's polarization with its momentum. The eavesdropper could then measure the momentum in order to get information about the polarization, without affecting the original polarization. Man, I love science. |
