Over at Blog@Newsarama, a great Wednesday post on comic book mission statements.

Donn Pearce was a counterfeiter and a convict. He was a merchant marine and a safecracker. He was these things before he turned twenty, and then he wrote Cool Hand Luke , was nominated for an Academy Award, went broke, and chased bail jumpers.

Via Metafilter, a terrific Esquire article on writer Donn Pearce.

I don't think there's a law saying I have to post any Ambush Bug articles I come across, but there's at least some sort of compulsion that made me want to share "There Will Always Be an Ambush Bug"...particularly after I saw that the article featured the page for which I own the original art (the 'Superman Blue, Superman Red' gag.)

UPDATE: An Ambush Bug fanfilm?!?!
