pictureAwesome: a hooded sweatshirt where the hood turns into a mask. I'd like one of these. No--make that two and a time machine, so I can send one back to my seven year-old self. Thank you. (via Boing Boing.)

pictureThe DARPA Grand Challenge has a winner! Stanley, the Stanford Racing Team's robotically-piloted vehicle, completed the 132-mile course in a race time of 7 hours and 55 minutes to snag the two million dollar purse. That may only be an average of around 16 miles per hour, but it's also either an exciting sign of things to come or the next terrifying step toward Maximum Overdrive.

First, the Daily Show changed sets.

Then, the old set went up for sale on eBay.

Inevitably,

"A small group of fans decided to upgrade from viewer to stalker and collectively bid to possess the original set."

Now they say:

"If Jon Stewart thinks he's the only guy who looks good in a fake anchorman suit, we've got news for him. Come on, America, show us what you got. We are on the prowl for Jon Stewart look-alikes, and maybe even a few Rob Corddrys. If we can find someone who can dance like Samantha Bee we have a pole with your name on it. We’re pretty sure no one could pull off a good Ed Helms, however, but give us your best shot.”

That's right, The Daily Set, without Jon Stewart may be coming to your town (via Boing Boing.)

Me make typo.

No - you make Canadians look bad. Folks, I’ve met a lot of Canadians, and none of them are as unctuous as Captain Wah-Wah here. Please don’t judge an entire nation by one of their most humorless constituents.

Kevin Smith unloads both barrels on Aint-It-Cool-News forum-goers. Crude, but hilarious. I leech vicariously from his obvious enjoyment, as I am occasionally forced to resist the temptation to do the same at forums that shall go unnamed.

pictureAfter several weeks of hard work by all involved, Beyond the Storm, the game-industry hurricane relief book to which I contributed, is now available as a PDF. Go buy a copy today. It's for a good cause, and there's a lot of great stuff. Mischa Krilov's game "Don’t Wanna Make Groceries" is worth the ten bucks in and of itself.
