I have not played The Game, but I have just lost The Game (via MetaTalk, less than 30 minutes ago.)

Daily Scans, a LiveJournal community posting excerpts from comics and commentary thereon. Funny stuff.

Next time you have to give a present, why not make your own packing crate? (via MAKEBlog)

(By the way: I highly reccommend MAKE Magazine, which is proving to be consistantly full of fun, interesting, and often even useful information. I just picked up the latest issue yesterday, and it was so good that I had to stop reading and set it aside lest I devour the whole thing in one sitting. That's not something I say about many magazines.)

Machine humiliates man in the classic forum: the home computer classic Track & Field (via Kotaku.)

Glenn has written a fond post mortem for the comic strip A Modest Destiny, and along the way has some interesting things to say about intellecutal property, the public domain, and your part in it.

If you like boogie woogie piano--or don't know if you do--go download "Boogie Passion" by Richie Loidl. Amazing.

I admit to being sorely tempted by these iPod text adventures, particularly Greystoke, which sounds a lot like one of my classic Infocom favorites, Deadline (via Kotaku.)

Check out the super-cool custom HeroClix figure of my City of Heroes character made for me by Brian! It's doubleplus awesome.

Help teach a computer to see by playing the online game Peekaboom (via the SA Forums.)

Also via Kevan, the cool-sounding moss graffiti. My parents are the gardeners in the family; I'll have to get them to try this.

Some of the submissions to this year's Grand Act on 24HourRPG are at the very least interesting, and some might actually be fun.

On a related note, if you're looking for fun, you might want to browse the Canonical List of Free Print-and-Play Games (via Kevan.)

What will the Japanese think of next? How about invisible dwarves that bring you tea yet are visible using a special video screen? I had to wait a while for the download, but the videos are definitely pretty neat. (via Collision Detection)

"I've imbed a trim woman of the world on the Internet. It tribute bewitch your letterpress and reseat all the words share one‘s sorrow words diagnostic Church Catechism curious."

(I've found a neat thing on the Internet. It will take your text and replace all the words with words that are similar.)

It's the Thesaurisizer.

Whether you want to be a zombie or fight them, Urban Dead is worth checking out--a crude but fun MMO game whose action points system pretty much limits it to being a distraction for only a few minutes per day.

My first character was trapped outside when I ran out of points, and I logged back on to find that he had been killed by zombies. He is now one of the living dead and encourages you to log on. He hungers for your flesh.

My second character is playing out a little better and appears to have found a safe place to hole up for the night in an undisclosed location in the northwest part of Malton.

Buggy things afoot in the IMDB newsbrief: in the story announcing the birth of Ben Stiller's second child is the weird link to the IMDB entry for Baby Boy. ...Of course, I suppose there could have been a neo-natal casting or something, like in The Truman Show; must have been for BB to show up in a 2004 movie.

The Daily Mail's 50 Films You Should See By the Age of 14. I might append "(Probably Some, Preferably, with Your Parents, To Keep You In Your Seat During the Slower Parts of The Bicycle Thief and To Talk You Down After Night of the Hunter)" (via Hacking Netflix.)

pictureVia Blogger's own blog, the Buzz, a public service announcement from the Nonist, also available as a PDF: "What Everyone Should Know About Blog Depression. Not applicable 'round these parts recently, but I can relate to some of it and laugh at the rest.

Via Making Light, a lateral thinking test. Pretty tough, but I nailed Question 3.
