Reading through news and analysis of the terrorist attacks on London this week I stumbled across a fascinating and terrifying concept: open source warfare.

"With Batman & Robin, everybody got really greedy," explains Schumacher. "They wanted more toys, more machines in the movie, to make it more for kids. Adults think kids are too scared of Batman, so we had to make it more kid-friendly, make it funnier, make it lighter." It was. Batman & Robin was a disaster. "I take full responsibility," says Schumacher.

Who wouldn't want a t-shirt from the Loch Ness Monster Adventure Club?

Y'know, I might have gone to the World Series of Poker had I known that I could get some decent Rock Paper Scissors action.

"All we got to say on this proposition is this: first, you and me is as good as anybody else, and maybe a damn sight better; second, nobody ain’t got no right to take away none of our rights; third, every man has got a right to live, to come and go as he pleases, and to have a good time however he likes, so long as he don’t interfere with nobody else. That any government that don’t give a man these rights ain’t worth a damn; also, people ought to choose the kind of goverment they want themselves, and nobody else ought to have no say in the matter."

I sat down tonight and paged through the programming schedule for the San Diego ComicCon, making notes of what panels might be fun to attend when and if I can slip away from our booth--and saw my own name, reminding me of several months ago when I agreed to be on a panel.

So if you're at the show and want to see a game designer (or, as the case may be, a 'designerer') on a toy-themed panel, come on by:

Thursday July 14, 6:00-7:00 Action Figure Times: Toymaker Q&A—Ever wanted to know why one character was chosen for production over another? Why your favorite character was limited or just what toy companies are thinking? This is the place to ask those folks who have the answers: the manufacturers (both big and small) of their favorite figures and statues. Panelists include Jerry Malcaluso, president of SOTA; Randy Falk, head of product development for NECA; Mez Markowitz, president of Mezco Toys; Raymond Choy, president of Toy2R; Kevin Winnik, director of marketing for Tower Records; Brandt Bridges, product designer for Sideshow Collectibles; Seth Johnson, games designerer for WizKids; Larry Marder, president of McFarlane Toys; and Eddie Haydon, brand manager for Mattel. Audience members will be encouraged to ask their questions. Prize raffle to follow the panel discussion. Moderated by AFTimes.com Room 4

Cool: someone from Yugoslavia doing a Google search for "military exoskeletons" was just the 70,000th hit to OD.

The Jello Aquarium. Brilliant. And it doesn't even sound that difficult--definitely something to try next time I have a party.

"Which would you rather read: The Book of Leviticus, or Fantastic Four #49? Nuff Said.

Uh oh. The Monkeycult may have a strong rival in The First Church of Galactus.
