The Varmint Hunters' Association--"publishers of Varmint Hunter Magazine!"

The Redhurst Academy of Magic, for which I did some writing, has been officially announced.

Some fellows at work spotted the ad on page 81 of this month's Computer Games--the April issue--for "Steelhead Batallion", which pointed to the brilliant website for Schadenfreude Interactive.

In turn, this led to my first Metafilter FPP. Woo!

"There are those who argue that everything breaks even in this old dump world of ours. I suppose these ginks who argue that way hold that because the rich man gets ice in the summer and the poor man gets it in winter things are breaking even for both. Maybe so, but I'll swear I can't see it that way."

--The last words of Bat Masterson, written at his desk at the New York Morning Telegraph, October 25, 1921

Note that nowhere in this story does Don Johnson refute the concept I find most impossible--that he even has eight billion dollars.

I neglected to link to this last week, but I've told so many people about it that I had to track it down again:

More than a thousand calories!

230% of your daily allotment of cholesterol!

All the salt and twice the fat!

When out in public, The Latch Brothers have a tendency to only appear in costume. One is a Rabbit, another an Elephant, and still another is a Lion.

(Found while looking for info on the Jet Set Radio Future soundtrack.)

Via Newsarama, the intriguing Footnote Comics. I found the comments on the current storyline in Daredevil particularly interesting.

When I leave town and say I won't be posting, I post up a storm. When I leave town and say I probably will post....silence.

Sorry about that, and sorry to all the Twin Cities folks who didn't hear from me while I was up there--I spent more time that I thought on business-related matters, and almost all of the rest with my family. Hopefully I'll make it up sometime in early April for Omnifest and we can hang out.

Then I got back to Madison and found myself knocked offline for an additional 24 hours due to virus quarantine.

But I'm back now. I'm going to go surf the Web for a couple hours and catch up. Talk to you later today.
