Awesome! MC Frontalot has finally put up the Penny Arcade theme song, and it's pretty damn nerdcore. Now if only I could find the Hawkman's GTA3 track... UPDATE: Went looking for the Hawking GTA3 track on Google and was only a little surprised to find that one of my pages (which desperately needs updating, by the way) was one of the only seven results. A link courtesy of HH's Tgerr about RPG-proof force fields for tanks. I particularly like that the field is linked to the tank's power supply; gives it a bit of game balance. Otherwise the soldiers would just drive around with it on all the time... Okay, back at work and trying to get back up to speed. Again. For those who didn't hear or haven't heard updates, I was away for a couple days while my mom underwent lumpectomy surgery for breast cancer. The cancer was just a bit of bad news leavened by an awful lot of good as events have progressed--the doctors caught it early (thanks to regular physicals), and as far as can (thusfar) be seen, it hadn't spread to the lymph nodes or any of the surrounding tissue. So this may have taken care of it. I hope. It'll still be a couple weeks before there's any more information, but everything looks good. I was surprised how fast and smoothly things went. I mean, sure, I had time to read an entire book while I was waiting, but she went in at ten in the morning and we took her home about twelve hours later. That's right; it was outpatient surgery. After reading accounts of early cancer treatment from as recent as twenty years ago, I can't tell you how glad I am that medical science in this particular area has come as far as it has. Support the American Cancer Society today. My thanks to everyone who sent their best wishes, and to the guys at work who sent my mom flowers. (My sister's picture of the game industry as a bunch of calloused testosterone-laden brutes is crushed forever, guys.) Updates anon, of course. But for now, a return to normality (Thanks to Andy for the link.) |
