Sometimes low-tech is as cool as high-tech: Chatting online with Liana today, I learned for the first time about shot towers, and the fascinating in-ground tower built in the now non-existant town of Helena, Wisconsin. Neat stuff.

Comments:
Yup, they are cool. I still remember my first grade trip to Tower Hill State Park where they have a tower. I assume this is where Liana was talking about. Another cool low-tech (but expensive) thing I just heard? Alexander the Great liked to dye his hair with saffron. And Cleopatra virtually doused herself in oil and rubbed saffron on. It's sparkly orange, and on dark skin, made her appear to glow.
