I sat down tonight and paged through the programming schedule for the San Diego ComicCon, making notes of what panels might be fun to attend when and if I can slip away from our booth--and saw my own name, reminding me of several months ago when I agreed to be on a panel. So if you're at the show and want to see a game designer (or, as the case may be, a 'designerer') on a toy-themed panel, come on by: Thursday July 14, 6:00-7:00 Action Figure Times: Toymaker Q&A—Ever wanted to know why one character was chosen for production over another? Why your favorite character was limited or just what toy companies are thinking? This is the place to ask those folks who have the answers: the manufacturers (both big and small) of their favorite figures and statues. Panelists include Jerry Malcaluso, president of SOTA; Randy Falk, head of product development for NECA; Mez Markowitz, president of Mezco Toys; Raymond Choy, president of Toy2R; Kevin Winnik, director of marketing for Tower Records; Brandt Bridges, product designer for Sideshow Collectibles; Seth Johnson, games designerer for WizKids; Larry Marder, president of McFarlane Toys; and Eddie Haydon, brand manager for Mattel. Audience members will be encouraged to ask their questions. Prize raffle to follow the panel discussion. Moderated by AFTimes.com Room 4
Comments:
I don't know either, but that's what it says in the program guide. Still, I'm hoping that if I do it really well I can strive to be designerest someday.
