I know I'm falling out of the Wisconsin news loop when I don't hear about the gigantic tire fire. (Springfield Tire Fire reference for those of you planning the inevitable jokes.)

Hopefully they'll manage to get it under control, or it will burn itself out, rather than burn for more than a century like that Chinese coal fire.

Yup, over a million tires. And when the fire broke out there was a DNR inspector on the property taking the guy to task, telling him to remove most of the tires to prevent exactly this.

Apparently in November he was down to @250K and built up to over a million since then.

Terrible pollution, but what does this ay about how we consume tires?
