Words for the wise from the mouth of a fool.

I've linked to this archive of the leaflets being dropped on Iraq before, but it's been greatly expanded and is worth checking out again. Don't miss the text of "Commado Solo" radio broadcasts (which I assumed were carried on Information Radio until a Google search revealed that Commando Solo is an aircraft.)

I was scrolling through the leaflets with a few guys here at work, and we noted that the Photoshoppery and composition of the leaflets seemed deliberately crude. My guess is that the graphic artists putting them together were walking a fine line between putting together images that would convey the message to the Iraqis and putting together images that would fuel the bugaboo argument of forged images. Semms like a tough task, and it helps to explain why the CIA is always recruiting graphic artists.
