I know that yesterday I was singing the praises of Metafilter, but today a MeFite referred to the Answer Man as simply "an ad man", bringing tears to the eyes of this DC fanboy. Still, they linked to a good piece; I should really read Rozakis' column more often...

And then they provide a link showing how to build a Gauss rifle from simple homemade objects (on the same site demonstrating how to make a hydrogen bomb (although it's not really a bomb--more of a "high-tech squirt gun"), and they win my heart all over again.
