So, I went to see The Last Castle this afternoon, and I have to say that it's the best MacGyver episode I've seen in years. You should check it out at some point just to see what the prisoners build from everyday freeweight equipment. Other than that (which is, however, a significant enough fraction to justify rental or budget theater prices,) it's a pretty mediocre movie with plot holes big enough to [[insert your own joke here]].

But I did get to go see it with my friend Phil. I gamed with Phil starting back in college, then worked with him for a year setting up WisPolitics.com until I made the move to Humanhead. But as Phil's now married, and since I no longer work in the same room, I don't get to see him nearly as often. Which is really too bad, because a) Phil's a good guy and b) it's fun to make jokes about extraditing your enemies to Bolivia with someone who could probably make it happen with a phone call. Phil's a weird duck, half-geek and half-political animal. We keep trying to get the geek to come out and play more often (for one thing, I miss the D&D games he used to run,) but for now that's an uphill battle.
