Sometime in the next couple weeks I'll begin the transition to new hosting, including repointing my domain name. This may mean some interruption in service...but at the rate I've been posting, would you really have noticed? Yes, someone would have. You know who you are. And for you, I apologize in advance. Well, even if I won't be going with WizKids, there are just too many people I want to see not to cobble together a trip to GenCon on my own. So I'm getting plane tickets, and pre-registering for a badge (and the price on both has sure gone up in the last few years)... now I just need a place to stay. I'm thinking it might be time for a bit of old-school floor crashing. Anyone from the Madison crowd (who it's increasingly looking like I won't get a chance to see on my earlier summer expedition to the Midwest) going to GenCon and interested in getting together at some point? The good news is that I'll have fewer professional obligations this year (though I do really want to go observe some of the HeroClix World Championships for a bit.) In related news, new employment is coming together more smoothly than I had expected. Updates on that when they can be provided. Monday, June 16, 2008
I suspect that given today's news, I'm going to have more eyeballs on this site soon--so it's time to start updating again. For those who miss the old-school Ober Dicta linkblogging, I suggest you check out my Google Reader Shared Items to the right--that's where I'm linkdumping these days. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the post I'm making to HeroClix fan site HCRealms tonight in this thread: Thanks to everyone who had nice things to say in this thread, and also to those who owned up to not liking some or all of my work--I come to the Realms every day for honest, no-holds-barred feedback on our products and you never disappoint. Oh, yeah--did I mention that I'm getting married? You can stop blogging, but life just keeps on happening. More soon. Tuesday, September 11, 2007
I'm playing around with adding some new functionality to Ober Dicta, and starting to suspect that I might actually want to do the long-promised full redesign. Maybe. In the meantime, if you've been missing OD linkblogging, check out my Google Reader feed to the right. You can also bookmark this page or even subscribe to the Shared Items Feed by clicking this button: ![]() Wednesday, July 25, 2007
The creative process behind Michel Gondry's video to the Chemical Brothers' "Star Guitar" video: And in case you haven't seen the brilliant final product: Thursday, July 12, 2007
Via BoingBoing, so everyone may have already seen it, but this was too brilliant not to link here: artists in San Francisco have created a Choose Your Own Adventure tale, told in stencils on the sidewalks, and intended to be played by two players simultaneously; it's a love story, and if both players make the 'right' decisions, the end of the story brings them back together after they wander through the Mission District. Brilliant. Labels: games, storytelling Monday, July 09, 2007

First you wait for it....and then the brilliance begins. |
